Walk

As we walked across the rundown fields, the familiar scent arose. That terrible odor was something that I could never forget but I couldn't pick where I was then it hit me. Now I remember! Those old sod gates covered in convolvulus and that old thatched fence, all broken and burnt, covered in moss. The beautiful old stone paving covered in slushy snow. The chapel! That’s what this smell.  We pretty much grew up the chapel. It looks like an old piece of crinkled up newspaper now. I see  a shimmer in the corner of my eye. My knees buckle, vision blurred, head down in the dirt.   

As I woke up I could tell that it was going to be a good day. Around midday it started to get really muggy. All of a sudden  the weather was going crazy, it was muggy one second and then the next it was chilly. It was in the afternoon and i was thinking of why no one has come here in 50 years. As soon as I said that I heard something in the field. I walked outside and there was a man standing in his eyes I remember the hazel eyes GRANDAD!.

While the person was asleep he looked familiar but i think it was me getting older and and seeing  stuff.  but it cept coming to me i cept thinking it was my grandson so i went and looked for some of or old family photos  it was my grandson. the field. It looked like he was not feeling so good and all of a sudden he feel over i stood there for a bet and he was not getting up so i decided to go and see if he was okay. When i got there he was still breathing so i pulled him back to the chapel. I kept him warm by the fire he finally woke up. reuben

As I stumbled to my feet I started to get my surroundings  and see the old man in front of me with old tated cloths and ash colored hair   my first reaction was to run but then I saw something in

My week

This week we learnt as a class how to use a protractor and about right angels
and why intersecting parallel lines  will always stay crossed a protractor is  an instrument for measuring angles, typically in the form of a flat semicircle marked with degrees along the curved edge. This week we also went to cape sanctuary to look at how we are treating the earth.And the birds that are on it. there are so many things that we do without thinking that hurt the environment like cutting down native trees and bushes that birds like to nest in.  

Tech

 Today we did some soldering practice
in electronics.

I need a torch in my emergency kit.
I'm going to to learn about simple circuits
and use the tech process to design and
make one for my bedroom.

My weekend

During the weekend I needed something to do so I was playing a game and I saw that it had a shirakiin as one of the weapons.This gave me an idea that I should make my own,so I first enlarged the photo on the computer and traced it out on some laser cut aluminum.

Then I asked my Dad to cut the rough shape out with the angle grinder. Then it was a long two hours with the file I had to go slow to get the shape just right I didn't want to take to much metal

I haven't finished yet I still had to drill the holes to finished disaster struck my drill went flat luckey

One day you woke up feeling litter than ever maybe you could even fly but that's just silly you finally come to. You hop out of bed with a spring in your step and knowing that today was going to be a breeze, Your father is sitting reading the newspaper and your mother was just about leave for work then your father says come on John it’s time for breakfast you start walking to the the lovely red stained oak table you sit down and ask if there is any muesli your mother was startled John it’s not time to play around we have to head of in twenty minutes. Mother i'm right in front of  she puts her hand out and I touched her hand it went could it she jumps and screams you're you're invisible…

Poppies

Poppies

For my project I chose to study the poppy and why and how it grew in such harsh and brutal conditions.I will also show how it grows in stages from a seed to a full grown flower and why it could grow like it did and in the quantities it did. It’s quite fascinating how it grew.

Seed

The seed for this flower was a funny looking black grey coloured shape that is bumpy and at the same time smooth,  but you should never judge a book by it's cover because it turns out to be such a unique flower you would never would have known when you saw the seed.

Pod

The pod for this plant is what produces the seed, so it’s a loop process. If you take the pod off and let it dry you don't get the flower but you get the seed and if you leave the pod let it sprout it will become a beautiful flower. The pod looks like one of willy wonka's buttercups before it has even started to grow let alone photosynthesise. If you don't know what this means it is like how caterpillar turns into a butterfly and that's how the pod turns into such a stunning looking flower.

During tech this week I learnt how to use all sorts of different design techniques and tools like a T square or a 45  and 30,60.In maths we learnt about  mean,median,mode and range sometimes  it is harder with bigger numbers. Olympic handball this fast game with high skill level.

This week we have been learning about persuasive speeches.we also watched a couple of videos about pubertal health It is a little bit weird but  it is good to get it out of the way and seeing some of the heastaracle. faces I'm writing mine about a comedy of errors. so now I can go play sport.

This week I have learnt how to use fractions  it's like trying to juggle a pencil otherwise it is really easy. we also have to personalize our own sumdog it is really cool to see what other  costs tums people have got  so yeah that's my weak

 

Anzac day

ANZAC

This week we have been learning about anzac day and it was really interesting to find 

out all the precise numbers and facts.We also learnt about conflict and that people have different signs to show that they are out of there comfort zone, so you know to stand back and leave them for a little while.

Back to the anzac day subject it is pretty sad that everything that happened couldn't have been solved if so it would have been a different story for a lot of people's life.because lots of people had connections with

their family from both wars so stop fighting and get on with life but sometimes it is harder than it sounds because people are fighting over religions land and other things and  people believe in different things and this is what they are fighting about. If you could just stop and think to yourself is this right, but instead they had sympathy beaten out of them.  

Week 7

This is me and Thomas with our teams artwork and we have been working on it for a week now. It is coming along well and it has heaps of cool concepts and it is about our school and our class.

Guitar

This is a picture of me and Nikora after music. We are learning the guitar and it is going pretty well. We are learning to play the Yelllow Bird. You have to pluck the strings for this song.

Banqer

This week we started our Banqer accounts. Banqer is an online money system. Here is a video we made about Banqer. It is like an ad. I think it is really because it is like the real world and we learn about money.

Prodigy

I learnt how to convert decimal on prodigy. Prodigy is an adventure maths game that is full of fun challenge. I really enjoy it. I highly recommend it.

My first impressions of HNI

My first impressions are that HNI is a cool school. Tech is a really fun experience that this school can offer. Here are some photos of me and my friends. I made the Hillary house swimming team and I swam in the butterfly, freestyle, backstroke, medley and freestyle house relays.I love being able to use the agility course.
And just hanging around with my friends  HNI is awesome.I like my class and I have some awesome kids in there.
